Every girl has dreamt of being a princess at some stage of her life; we all wanted a charming and handsome prince to come and sweep us off of our feet, to save us and make us feel special. We were waiting and dreaming, and hoping and imagining. We wanted the best, the man of our dreams.
"You were everything to me and I was begging you please don't go!"
But when we're finally old enough to have a prince of our own he doesn't come. We look and we search but all we can find are insensitive pricks who seem like they have never even seen Cinderella or Beauty and The Beast. And if they claim to have seen them then they've chosen the wrong characters to portray; I don't want an evil stepfather or a Gaston in my life. But they just don't seem to understand that. They insist on acting inmature, on thinking that being cool is hooking up with as many girls as possible, on being careless and scared of relationships.
"Marry me Juliette we never have to be alone! I love you and that's all I really know!"
To fix this I propose that we make them watch classic Disney. Make them sit through all the movies which shaped our childhood, which gave us dreams, ideals, and made us long for a certain type of man: the prince; the good willed, good spirited, all-around perfect guy. So men, if you are reading, blame Walt Disney for our high expectations, because I can assure you that, deep down we all want our handsome prince.
"This love is difficult but it's real"
