A beginners try at Poetry

I believe in raindrops,
That wash sadness away.
I believe in raindrops,
That erase mistakes somdays.

I love the sounds of water,
Dripping, and always smelling sweet.
I love the smiles on daughters.
When fathers hug and give them heat.

I miss your arms around me,
Every single day.
I miss the smile that i could see,
When you still cared for me.

I wished, sometimes,to turn back time and fix what i regret,
But then, I would lose my knowledge, what i learnt i would forget.

And i wondered from the start:

Would this change my mind, myself, my heart?
Would all that i've matured because of those mistakes, leave me, depart?

I'm sorry fate,
Forgive me, dear time.

Ignore that old desire to change what you had wrought.
And let me remember that without regrets, i would grow and change not.

And so i believe in raindrops
That wash my mistakes away
But i also believe in my memory
That allows me to remember always.

So while i seek love and things that i know,
I try to avoid the things i did wrong,
They are past, they're no more;
now i look for safety and caring and things that can grow.

Grow and get better
And nicer and fairer.
For growth is good and safety is swell and doing things differently helps the world move as well.

Regret if you want, but heed my advice:

Lost love isn't reason for disturbing the past,
For petty little time always gets what he wants;

Lost love can't be salvaged, you can't make it return,
For a reason in ending it already happened,
And human beings frequently act in the same simple fashion.
